Jon Martin is the Chief Executive Officer - North America for AEW Capital Management, a leading global real estate investment management firm with over $90 billion of assets under management.  Mr. Martin is responsible for the oversight of the Firm’s North American Private Equity & Debt platform, Global Securities platform, Investor Relations team and corporate operations.  He is a member of AEW’s Board of Directors and Audit Committee, chairs the firm’s Governance Committee and Senior Leadership Team and is a member of its Risk Management Committee and North American and Global Investment Committees.  He is also the executive sponsor and member of AEW’s Environmental, Social, Governance & Resiliency Committee and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee. 

Mr. Martin has over 30 years of real estate experience and has been with AEW since 2001.  Prior to assuming his role as CEO North America in 2021, he was the firm’s Chief Operating Officer for a period of three years and prior to that spent ten years as a Portfolio Manager on the AEW Core Property Trust, AEW’s flagship core, open-end fund. During his time at AEW he has also served in various roles in the firm’s Asset Management and Accounting & Finance teams.

Prior to joining AEW, Mr. Martin worked for ten years as a Senior Manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, in Boston and Minneapolis where he was an auditor and financial consultant specializing in the real estate and mortgage banking industries.  He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.A.) in Finance and Accounting.
