A guiding force for Macerich for over four decades, Ed Coppola has helped position the company as one of the nation’s leading shopping center REITs. Through his broad oversight of the company’s strategic direction, Macerich created an unparalleled national footprint in the highest-barrier-to-entry markets.

As President, Mr. Coppola guides the company’s important development/redevelopment strategy as well as financial resources, key lender and investor relationships, and collaborates with the critical spheres of legal, leasing and overall management of Macerich. He oversees acquisitions and dispositions, department store relations and an active pipeline centered on transforming A-level properties in gateway markets, delivering strong, value-driving opportunities.

Mr. Coppola, a native of Des Moines, Iowa, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and a Juris Doctorate from Drake University. He serves on the Business Advisory Council for the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame, is a member of the Real Estate Roundtable in Washington, D.C., and is a frequent contributor to key industry panels and conferences.
