Minor in Real Estate expands to 176 students

In the spring of 2020, the Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate concluded its second application window for student enrollment in the undergraduate Minor in Real Estate at the University of Notre Dame. This new cohort of first-year students, sophomores, and juniors joins the 2019 cohort for a total of 176 students currently enrolled in the Minor.

The students in the Minor are represented by 20 different majors across campus—including Finance, Business, Economics, Architecture, and Accounting—demonstrating the diverse environment students will encounter in the classroom in preparation for their careers in real estate. "The new pool of applicants marked a 25 percent increase in applications, which raised the competitiveness of admission into the Minor," said Eugenio Acosta, director of undergraduate studies for real estate and program director of the Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate.

The size of the currently enrolled class is limited only by available courses and faculty. The Institute is working to increase capacity through the financial support of alumni, friends, and corporate affiliates and hopes to offer a new enrollment window in the fall of 2020.
